Down on Maple Productions began in 2020, when Ryan Michelle Bathe launched a company with a focus on emerging talent and underrepresented voices.
At its heart is a creative instinct: to make space for people with something to say, and to explore what happens when a story finds its audience.

Ryan’s screen work includes The Endgame, First Wives Club, All Rise, This Is Us and Sylvie’s Love. She graduated from Stanford University and earned an MFA in acting from New York University.
With Down on Maple, her creative practice extends to developing stories and making room for emerging talent.

Down on Maple is developing a proposal for seven free, public live podcast events in Los Angeles exploring fan-created stories inspired by Heated Rivalry.
Planned for February–March 2027, the proposed format brings one or two selected stories into focus at each gathering, with conversation and audience questions about the worlds fans create.
It begins with a simple idea: stories can give people a reason to find one another.
